Rupee weakens against US dollar on Friday
Jul-30-2021

Indian rupee weakened against the US dollar on Friday as foreign fund outflows and firm crude oil prices weighed on rupee sentiment. Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs) were net sellers as they offloaded shares worth Rs 866.26 crore in the capital market on Thursday, exchange data showed. However, positive trend in domestic equities capped rupee’s fall to some extent. On the global front, the US dollar remained near a one-month low following the US Federal Reserve maintained a dovish stance in its latest policy decision. Disappointing US economic data also added pressure on American currency.

The partially convertible currency is currently trading at 74.37, weaker by 8 paise from its previous close of 74.29 on Thursday. The currency touched a high and low of 74.3975 and 74.2725 respectively.
