Crude oil futures ended higher on Tuesday finding support from expectations for a second weekly decline in US crude supplies. The Energy Information Administration will release its weekly US petroleum supply report Wednesday. On average, experts polled by S&P Global Platts expect the EIA to report a decline of 4 million barrels in domestic crude supplies for the week ended September 18, along with a fall of 1.9 million barrels gasoline inventories and a climb of 1.2 million barrels in distillate stockpiles.

Crude oil futures for October gained 29 cents or 0.7 percent to settle at $39.60 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange. November Brent crude rose 29 cents or 0.7% to settle at $41.72 a barrel on London's Intercontinental Exchange.
