Rupee shows mild strength against US dollar on Thursday
Nov-05-2026

Indian rupee has shown mild strength against US dollar on Thursday. Initially, rupee opened on a stronger note against dollar as global crude oil prices fell sharply easing inflationary worries and fear of interest rate hikes. The Brent crude oil prices have fallen below $100 barrel mark after Democrat party’s win in US mid-term election eased concerns of renewed U.S.-Iran escalation. Besides, capital inflows from foreign institutional investors (FIIs) kept sentiments upbeat. FIIs were the net buyers in Wednesday’s session, purchasing securities worth Rs 7,284.03 crore. However, the domestic currency gave up its strength over the course to close at 94.41. On the global front, South Korean won has weakened against the US dollar on Thursday amid heavy foreign selling of domestic equities.

Finally, the rupee ended at 94.41 (Provisional), strengthened by 5 paise from its previous close of 94.46 on Wednesday. The currency touched a high and low of 94.57 and 94.32 respectively.
