Rupee strengthens against US dollar on Friday
Oct-30-2026

Indian rupee has strengthened against US dollar on Friday amid easing US bond yields and softer dollar. Further, investors remained optimistic after Finance Ministry, in its October Monthly Economic Review, has said that India’s economic activity continued to expand in the July-September quarter (Q2) of the current fiscal year 2026-27 (FY27), with GDP growth estimated at 7.35%, following stronger-than-expected real GDP growth of 7.8% in Q1 FY27. It said domestic demand, investment activity and structural reforms are expected to support growth through the remainder of the year. Besides, traders overlooked capital outflows from foreign institutional investors (FIIs). FIIs were the net sellers on Thursday’s session offloading securities worth Rs 943.60 crore. On the global front, Japanese yen has strengthened against the US dollar on Friday after the Bank of Japan kept its policy rate at 1.25%, in line with street expectations.

Finally, the rupee ended at 94.89 (Provisional), strengthened by 37 paise from its previous close of 95.26 on Thursday. The currency touched a high and low of 95.28 and 94.89 respectively.
