Indian rupee strengthens against US dollar on Tuesday
Oct-13-2026

Indian rupee has strengthened against US dollar on Tuesday supported by RBI measures aimed at reducing spot dollar demand and curbing excessive positioning in the foreign exchange market. Further, investors remained optimistic after International Monetary Fund (IMF) revised upward India’s economic growth projection by 60 basis points (bps) to 7.0% for the fiscal year 2026-27 (FY27) and by 30 bps to 7.0% for FY28, compared with its July 2026 WEO update. It highlighted that India remains among the fastest-growing major economies, adding that the country’s growth remained robust despite higher oil prices. On the global front, euro has strengthened against the US dollar on Tuesday as oil prices retreated from their recent highs.

Finally, the rupee ended at 95.36 (Provisional), strengthened by 42 paise from its previous close of 95.78 on Monday. The currency touched a high and low of 95.53 and 94.96 respectively.
