Bears take full control over Dalal Street in late trade
Oct-08-2026

Benchmarks have extended losses in late afternoon session as surge in crude oil prices dampened investor sentiment. The Brent crude oil prices have surged past the $104 per barrel mark after reports indicated that US is planning to strike Iran before the US midterm elections. Further, traders remained cautious as foreign institutional investors (FIIs) continued to pull out capital from Indian markets. Besides, overhang of an additional rate hike by RBI and inflationary concerns have made market participants nervous.

On the global front, all Asian and European equity markets were trading lower as tensions Middle East fuelled global crude prices, while US bond yield continued their upward trajectory.
