India's exports to EFTA bloc show healthy growth after TEPA implementation: Goyal
Oct-05-2026

Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal has said that India’s exports of specific goods like motor cars, heavy waters and moulding patterns have registered a healthy growth in the European Free Trade Association (EFTA) bloc following implementation of a trade agreement between India and the four-nation grouping. India and EFTA implemented the trade and economic partnership agreement (TEPA) on October 1, 2025. EFTA comprises Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Switzerland.

The minister said the pact marks an important milestone in India's economic engagement with EFTA nations, which have committed to promoting $100 billion in investments in India over the next 15 years, helping create 1 million direct jobs. He said ‘this will support greater investment, strengthen our manufacturing and services sectors and contribute to sustainable economic growth.’

Under the agreement, EFTA has committed to provide market access on 92.2 per cent of tariff lines covering 99.6 per cent of India's exports. This includes 100 per cent of non-agricultural products. India has safeguarded sensitive sectors such as dairy, soya, coal and sensitive agricultural products.
