Sep-29-2026

Indian rupee has shown mild strength against US dollar on Tuesday as Brent crude oil prices retreated from their recent highs after private reports indicated that mediators are still working with Iran and the US on brokering a deal to end the conflict and open the Strait of Hormuz. The Brent crude oil prices have retreated to trade near $104 a barrel mark. However, investors were cautious as foreign institutional investor (FIIs) continued their selling spree. FIIs were the net sellers on Monday’s session, offloading securities worth Rs 5,353.22 crore. On the global front, euro has weakened against the US dollar on Tuesday amid uncertainty surrounding interest rate hike by the European Central Bank.

Finally, the rupee ended at 95.94 (Provisional), strengthened by 3 paise from its previous close of 95.97 on Monday. The currency touched a high and low of 96.15 and 95.94 respectively.
