Govt to divest 6% stake in Hindustan Copper through OFS

The government of India is all set to divest up to 6% stake in Hindustan Copper through an Offer for Sale (OFS) worth around Rs 2,982.30 crore. The government has launched OFS for sale of 2,90,10,721 shares (Base offer), representing 3% of total shareholding, of the company for around Rs 1,491.15 crore. The floor price for the OFS is Rs 514 per share.

Further, the OFS has a green shoe option for an additional 3% stake, representing 2,90,10,721 shares, of the company. The offer has opened for Non-Retail Investors on August 25, 2026 and will open for Retail Investors on August 26, 2026. The government holds 66.14% stake in the company. 

Hindustan Copper’s principal activities include mining of copper ore, concentration of copper ore into copper concentrate through a beneficiation process and also smelting, refining and extruding of the copper concentrate into refined copper in downstream saleable products.
