Tata Power’s arm commissions 190.5 MW Solar FDRE project in Rajasthan

Tata Power Company’s subsidiary -- Tata Power Renewable Energy (TPREL) has commissioned 190.5 MW Solar Firm and Dispatchable Renewable Energy (FDRE) project at Kalasar, Bikaner, Rajasthan which is under the contractual capacity of 460 MW FDRE Project. The 190.5 MW project has been developed under SJVN FDRE Tranche-1. The project will supply energy to Haryana Power Purchase Centre (HPPC), Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company (MSEDCL) and Noida Power Company (NPCL) discoms.

The project marks another significant step in India's clean energy journey by integrating large-scale solar generation with advanced energy storage and grid support technologies to deliver reliable, dispatchable renewable power. The project demonstrates TPREL's engineering excellence and execution capabilities, having overcome several complex challenges including compressed project timelines, global supply chain disruptions impacting the availability of transmission line materials, module mounting structures and other critical equipment. 

With this project, TPREL's total renewable utility capacity has reached 12.4 GW. Of this, around 6.9 GW is operational, including 5.6 GW of solar and 1.3 GW of wind capacity, while close to 5.5 GW is under various stages of implementation, are expected to be commissioned in phases over the next 24 months.
