Rupee strengthens against dollar on Friday
Jul-10-2026

Indian rupee strengthened against the U.S. dollar on Friday amid weaker dollar and easing geopolitical tensions as the United States and Iran will continue peace negotiations despite recent clashes. Sentiments also remained upbeat after the Director of the Communications Department of IMF, Julie Kozack said that sustained high growth and continuity in reforms will put India on the path to emerge as a developed economy by 2047. She added that the country has made significant progress in structural reforms, such as implementing a new labour code, concluding new trade agreements and advancing deregulation at the state level. On the global front, the British pound has strengthened against the U.S. dollar on Friday amid rising expectations of interest rate hike by Bank of England later this year.

Finally, the rupee ended at 95.39 (Provisional), strengthened by 8 paise from its previous close of 95.47 on Thursday. The currency touched a high and low of 95.42 and 95.22 respectively.
