SIR forms to reach all voters, mapped or unmapped: Karnataka CEO
Jun-30-2026

Karnataka Chief Electoral Officer V Anbukkumar said that the BLOs would deliver enumeration forms to all eligible voters under the SIR of electoral rolls, including those whose voter records are yet to be mapped, and urged people to return the filled-in forms by July 29.

V Anbukkumar said the month-long door-to-door distribution exercise had commenced across the state and appealed to voters to cooperate with BLOs. He said irrespective of mapping, electors remain in the electoral rolls and they will get enumeration forms under the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise.

Anbukkumar said electors should not submit any documents to BLOs while handing over the partially-filled customised enumeration forms during the house-to-house visit from June 30 to July 29, 2026. Documents will need to be submitted in case of discrepancies, which will be from August 25, 2026, and the electors will be notified, he added.

Karnataka CEO also reiterated that submitting a photograph was not mandatory, adding that BLOs could take a fresh photograph using their mobile phones if a voter did not have one readily available. He further said the qualifying date is October 1, 2026, and those attaining the age of 18 years by then could submit Form 6 for inclusion in the electoral roll.

The mapping will continue during the door-to-door data collection till draft electoral rolls are published on August 5 and the final roll will be released on October 7.

The CEO said Karnataka has 5.56 crore voters, of whom more than 5.09 crore have already been mapped, while mapping of the remaining electors is in progress.
