JSW Energy’s arm commissions full 150 MW capacity of Tidong Power plant in Himachal Pradesh
Jun-12-2026

JSW Energy’s wholly owned subsidiary -- JSW Neo Energy (JSW Neo) has successfully commissioned the full 150 MW capacity of Tidong Power Generation (Tidong Power), a run-of-river hydroelectric power plant in the Tidong Valley situated in Kinnaur district of Himachal Pradesh. The project has been commissioned ahead of the previously guided timeline of October 2026, reflecting the company’s execution capabilities. Tidong Power (150 MW) has a long-term power purchase agreement with Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation to procure 75 MW power during the months of May to October at a tariff of Rs 5.57/KWh.

Tidong Power is the company’s fourth hydro asset in Himachal Pradesh and a strategic addition to its hydro portfolio, further reinforcing its position as India’s largest private hydropower player. With the project now fully commissioned, it is expected to be earnings-accretive in FY27, supported by its remunerative tariff and its ability to capitalise on the ongoing hydro season. In addition, its proximity to the Karcham Wangtoo plant will enable robust operational synergies.

With this commissioning, the company's total installed capacity added in Q1 FY27 (to date) stands at around 445 MW (225 MW wind, 70 MW solar and 150 MW hydro), taking total installed capacity to around 13,900 MW.

JSW Energy, part of the JSW Group, is a growing energy company. The Group has diversified interests in carbon steel, power, mining, industrial gases, port facilities, aluminium, cement and information technology.
