Rupee shows mild strength against dollar on Wednesday
Feb-18-2026

Indian rupee has shown mild strength against the U.S. dollar on Wednesday supported by fund inflows of foreign institutional investors (FIIs). FIIs were the net buyers of securities worth Rs 995.21 crore on Tuesday’s session. Besides, investors remained optimistic as India and France have elevated their ties to a ‘special global strategic partnership’ with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and French President Emmanuel Macron undertaking significant ramp up of bilateral cooperation in areas of defence, trade and technology. The two leaders also virtually inaugurated an assembly line in Karnataka’s Vemagal to build Airbus H125 helicopters. On the global front, the New Zealand dollar weakened against other major currencies in the Asian session on Wednesday, after the Reserve Bank of New Zealand left its benchmark interest rate unchanged.

Finally, the rupee ended at 90.67 (Provisional), strengthened by 5 paise from its previous close of 90.72 on Tuesday. The currency touched a high and low of 90.71 and 90.59 respectively.
