Telecom service providers’ gross revenue grows to record high of Rs 99,828 crore in Q2FY26

Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) in its latest report has said that the gross revenue of the telecom service providers (TSPs) increased by 9.19% to a record high of Rs 99,828 crore in the September quarter of 2025-26 (Q2FY26) as compared to Rs 91,426 crore in the same period a year ago. During Q2FY26, the gross revenue of the telecom service providers, which include mobile service providers, internet services companies, etc, reached near the Rs 1 lakh crore mark. The TSPs reported a gross revenue of Rs 96,646 crore in the June quarter of 2025-26.

During the quarter, TSPs’ adjusted gross revenue (AGR), on which the government levies its charge, rose 9.35% on a year-over-year (YoY) basis to Rs 82,348 crore from Rs 75,310 crore in the September 2024 quarter. Telecom operators like Reliance Jio, Bharti Airtel, Vodafone Idea, BSNL, etc jointly registered AGR of Rs 69,229.89 crore, thereby contributing around 84% in the total. Meanwhile, rest of the players posted AGR of less than Rs 50 crore.

The Government's collection in the form of licence fee increased 9.38% on YoY basis to Rs 6,588 crore during Q2FY26. Further, collection through spectrum usage charge grew 5.49% on YoY basis to Rs 997 crore during the same period.
