Vedanta inches up on reporting marginal rise in aluminium production in Q1FY26

Vedanta is currently trading at Rs. 458.65, up by 0.30 points or 0.07% from its previous closing of Rs. 458.35 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 461.40 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 463.50 and Rs. 455.25 respectively. So far 461095 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 1 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 527.00 on 16-Dec-2024 and a 52 week low of Rs. 362.20 on 07-Apr-2025.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 474.95 and Rs. 455.25 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 179349.95 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 56.38%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 27.48% and 16.14% respectively.

Vedanta has reported marginal rise of 1% in its total aluminium production to 605 thousand tonnes in the first quarter of FY26 compared to 596 thousand tonnes same quarter last year. However, the Zinc mined metal production on domestic front has decreased by 5% to 250 thousand tonnes in Q1 of FY26 as compared to 262 thousand tonnes same quarter last year. Meanwhile, the zinc mined metal output on international front was up 50% to 57 thousand tonnes in Q1 of FY26 compared to 38 thousand tonnes same quarter last year. 

The production of saleable iron ore rose 42% to 1.8 million tonnes in Q1 of FY26 compared to 1.3 million tonnes in same quarter last year. However, its total Finished steel production decreased by 2% to 3,49,000 tonnes in Q1 of FY26 compared to 3,56,000 tonnes in same quarter last year. The power sales for the first quarter of FY26 decreased by 10% to 4,289 million units compared to 4,791 million units same quarter last year.
