Copper futures end lower on Thursday

Copper futures ended lower on Thursday, followed by the concerns that most tariffs were remained in place and not removed by the United States even as China pledged to boost purchases of US goods and services by $200 billion as part of the phase one trade deal.

Copper futures for March delivery fell 0.7 percent to settle at $2.847 a pound on the Comex metals division of New York Mercantile Exchange. Copper on the London Metal Exchange ended down 0.2 percent at $6,277 a ton.
