Copper prices settle lower on Friday
Oct-31-2026
Copper prices settled lower on Friday, pressured by disappointing earnings from major tech and AI companies, alongside growing concerns that massive, multi-hundred-billion-dollar artificial intelligence infrastructure spending by Big Tech companies may not yield sufficient returns. Market sentiment weakened further as rising crude oil prices were fuelled by the prospect of renewed US military action against Iran. Additionally, the potential for a late-year interest rate hike intensified anxieties regarding global economic growth.

Copper futures for December delivery fell $0.1205 to settle at $6.4820 a pound on the Comex metals division of New York Mercantile Exchange. Copper on the London Metal Exchange was down by 1.41% at $14,154.50 a ton.
