Gold futures finish sharply lower after strong US economic data
Oct-31-2026
Gold futures finished sharply lower on Friday, saddled by the strong US economic data and on intensified bets over ‘higher-for-longer’ Federal Reserve stance. Rising crude oil rates and energy-driven inflation fears also dulled yellow metal investments. The precious metal for the most active contract fell about 2.71% for the week.

Gold futures for December delivery plunged by $132.50 or 3.28% to settle at $3,898.90 an ounce on the Comex division of the New York Mercantile. While, spot gold dipped by $146.90 or 3.65% to $3,874.62 an ounce.
