Copper futures settle higher on Monday
Oct-27-2026
Copper futures settled higher on Monday as supply concerns persisted alongside a strike at Teck Resources' Highland Valley Copper mine in British Columbia. However, gains were capped by prolonged weakness in artificial intelligence and tech stocks, sectors that rely heavily on copper for data centers and power infrastructure. Meanwhile, traders remained cautious ahead of the Federal Reserve's interest-rate decision later in the week.

Copper futures for December delivery rose $0.0345 to settle at $6.5420 a pound on the Comex metals division of New York Mercantile Exchange. Copper on the London Metal Exchange was up by 0.03% at $14,327.50 a ton.
