Gold futures finish sharply lower after hawkish Fed signals
Oct-15-2026

Gold futures finished sharply lower on Wednesday, weighed down by hawkish Federal Reserve commentary that signalled interest rates may stay higher for longer. Furthermore, stronger dollar and caution ahead of critical upcoming US inflation data, dulled position taking in yellow metal.

Gold futures for December delivery tumble by $69.40 or 1.66% to settle at $4,107.90 an ounce on the Comex division of the New York Mercantile. However, spot gold rose by $38.07 or 0.93% to $4,143.44 an ounce.
