DGFT allows 5,841 tonnes of sugar export to EU under tariff rate quota
Oct-13-2026

The Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) has allowed 5,841 tonnes of sugar to be exported to the European Union (EU) under a quota-based duty concession scheme - tariff rate quota - for 2026-27 (October 2026 to September 2027). The DGFT also said that the minimum import price (MIP) on Glufosinate and its salts, used in weedicides, has been extended till April 12, 2027.

Separately, the DGFT said the export policy of 'Prepared Culture Media' has been amended to enable issuance of Shipment Clearance Certificate and Health Certificate, wherever required or mandated by the importing country.

Prepared culture media are nutrient-rich solid, semi-solid, or liquid formulations used to grow, isolate, and identify microorganisms in clinical, industrial, and research laboratories.
