Crude oil futures end marginally higher on supply worries
Sep-29-2026

Crude oil futures closed marginally higher on Monday in the wake of renewed concerns about energy supply as U.S. President Donald Trump rejected Iran's latest proposal to reopen the Strait of Hormuz and signaled possible new military strikes after midterm elections. However, gains remain capped on expectations that Qatari mediators would hold talks with the US and Iran to find a possible deal.

Benchmark crude oil futures for November delivery increased by $0.16 or 0.17% to settle at $92.60 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange. Brent crude for November delivery rose by $0.96 or 0.92% to settle at $105.28 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
