Crude oil futures end lower on Friday

Crude oil futures closed lower on Friday amid growing optimism over a potential de-escalation of tensions in the Middle East, as investors looked ahead to the upcoming meeting between U.S. President Donald Trump and Gulf leaders, which is expected to focus on easing U.S.-Iran tensions.

Benchmark crude oil futures for October delivery declined by $1.61 or 1.58% to settle at $100.30 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange. Brent crude for November delivery decreased by $0.95 or 0.91% to settle at $103.87 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
