Copper futures settle down on Thursday
Sep-11-2026
Copper futures settled lower on Thursday on concern that the United States is pushing back a decision on whether to impose import tariffs. Besides, hotter-than-expected US producer inflation data for August raised expectations of an interest rate hike this month, while an escalating conflict in the Middle East also kept Brent crude prices above $100 per barrel and added further pressure on red metal prices.

Copper futures for December delivery fell $0.341 to settle at $6.5475 a pound on the Comex metals division of New York Mercantile Exchange. Copper on the London Metal Exchange was down by 3.62% at $14,233.50 a ton.
