Gold futures traded lower in early deals on Monday as the safe-haven appeal of the bullion waned after U.S. job growth accelerated significantly in August, fueling bets on a Federal Reserve interest-rate hike. A stronger dollar and rising bond yields also weighed on precious metals.

Gold futures for December delivery down by $27.70 or 0.62% to $4,448.90 an ounce on the Comex division of the New York Mercantile. Spot gold dipped by $26.94 or 0.61% to $4,403.04 an ounce.
