Copper futures settle down on Wednesday
Sep-03-2026
Copper futures settled lower on Wednesday as higher Brent crude prices and renewed bets on a September Federal Reserve rate hike weighed heavily on industrial metals. Escalating tensions between the United States and Iran also added further pressure on copper prices. However, the downside was limited as the US dollar and Treasury yields eased.

Copper futures for December delivery fell $0.0075 to settle at $6.5930 a pound on the Comex metals division of New York Mercantile Exchange. Copper on the London Metal Exchange was down by 0.41% at $14,215.50 a ton.
