Aug-22-2026

Crude oil futures ended higher on Friday as expectations of a U.S.-Iran deal sank after the U.S. announced economic measures to isolate Iran, leaving the Strait of Hormuz closed and heightening supply concerns.

Benchmark crude oil futures for October delivery rose by $0.23 or 0.26% to settle at $87.06 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange. Brent crude for October delivery gained by $0.61 or 0.65% to settle at $94.39 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
