Copper futures surge on Monday
Aug-03-2026
Copper futures surged on Monday, as ongoing supply-side issues continued to tighten the market, while robust structural demand from AI data centers and electrification also supported sentiments. The red metal also found support from falling crude oil prices after Trump held off on ‌fresh attacks on Iran in hopes of a swift deal, which eased concerns over inflation and higher interest rates.

Copper futures for September delivery rose $0.0885 or 1.37% at $6.5540 a pound on the Comex metals division of New York Mercantile Exchange.
