Gold futures finish higher as dollar firms

Gold futures finished sharply lower on Friday, saddled by the firmness in dollar and on increased US Treasury bond yield notes. Moreover, bets on raising benchmark interest rates by Federal Reserve in September also pressured investment appeal of the bullion. 

Gold futures for August delivery tumbled by $ 53.60 to 1.29% to settle at $ 4,107.00 an ounce on the Comex division of the New York Mercantile. While, spot gold wilted by $ 57.26 or 1.40% to $ 4,046.15 an ounce.
