Gold futures finish lower ahead of Fed's rate decision
Jul-29-2026

Gold futures finished lower on Tuesday, weighed down by the strength of the dollar and bets on a hawkish monetary policy by the US central bank. The July Fed meeting kicked off on July 28, and will conclude on July 29, with the central bank's latest policy decision. The safe haven appeal of the bullion dulled followed by temporary ceasefire agreement between the United States and Iran.

Gold futures for August delivery down by $38.30 to 0.93% to settle at $4,038.70 an ounce on the Comex division of the New York Mercantile.  Spot gold dipped by $5.92 or 0.15% to $4,023.69 an ounce.
