Copper futures trade higher on renewed US-China trade talk optimism
Oct-27-2025
Copper futures were trading higher on Monday due to renewed optimism over trade talks between the United States and China. US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said on Sunday top Chinese and US economic officials hashed out a very substantial framework for a trade deal in Kuala Lumpur, which would allow US President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping to discuss trade cooperation later this week. Meanwhile investors awaited major central bank meetings later this week. Moreover, persistent concerns over a shortage of supply also supported copper prices’ up-move.

Copper futures for December delivery gained $0.0785 or 1.53% at $5.2010 a pound on the Comex metals division of New York Mercantile Exchange.
