Copper futures trade higher on Monday

Copper futures were trading higher on Monday, on expectations that China will unveil fresh monetary stimulus after data showed that deflationary pressures persisted in September amid a weak property market and trade tensions with the U.S. Copper prices improved further on global supply disruptions along with hopes of more U.S. interest rate cuts. Although, firm US dollar limited further gains in copper prices.

Copper futures for December delivery gained $0.0835 or 1.68% at $5.0530 a pound on the Comex metals division of New York Mercantile Exchange.
