Gold futures finish lower on stronger dollar

Gold futures finished lower on Tuesday, after hitting a four-week peak rate during the session. The yellow metal got saddled by the strength in dollar ahead of a potential call between US President Donald Trump and Chinese leader Xi Jinping this week.

Gold futures for August delivery fell by $20.10 or 0.6% to settle at $3,377.10 an ounce on the Comex division of the New York Mercantile. Spot gold higher by $6.91 or 0.21% to $3,360.34 an ounce.
