Apr-25-2025

Crude oil futures closed higher on Thursday as traders look to pick up crude oil at reduced levels following yesterday's tumble, which came as a private report indicated that the OPEC+ might accelerates oil output hikes in June for a second consecutive month. Meanwhile, buying interest was somewhat subdued as the traders seek more clarity on global trade situation. Traders also took note of U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent comments indicating the U.S. may reach an agreement on understanding on trade with South Korea as soon as next week.

Benchmark crude oil futures for June delivery surged $0.52 or about 0.84% at $ 62.79 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange. Brent crude for June delivery rose $0.43 or 0.65% to settle at $66.55 a barrel on London's Intercontinental Exchange.
